The 2007 Canoe/Kayak Slalom Open began at Beijing's Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park at 3:00 p.m. today, with  the first-round heats in the men's C-1 event. The top 12 canoeists will qualify for tomorrow's semifinals.
