In the women's K-1 finals held on August 19, Jana Dukatova of Slovakia beat all her opponents to emerge the winner. After the race Jana Dukatova said, "I'm not satisfied with my performance, but it's good to have won the gold medal."
During the women's K-1 finals, Jana Dukatova failed to bring out her best but fortunately won the title. "In both the semifinals and finals I made a lot of mistakes, and I did not know why. I was annoyed at my own performance, but I had never thought that other competitors would have more problems than me. I was lucky to win the gold medal."
Just like many other participants in the race, Jana Dukatova thought the course here was a great challenge to women padders. However, she said she liked it as it remains the same to every and each competitor.
Commenting on the performance of her Chinese opponents, Jana Dukatova thought the Chinese team had made rapid progress and believed they would be stronger next year. She suggested they take part in more competitions so as to gain experience for future improvement.
Asked what was the most important in a competiton, Jana Dukatova answered, "It will be impossible for an athlete to win the championship without training; and it will be difficult for him/her to win without the help of a coach. Moreover, one also needs a stroke of luck in the racing." |
