The semifinal races of the 2007 Canoe/Kayak Flatwater Open began on August 24. Hungarian canoeist Vajda Attila, winner of the C-1 1000m at the 2007 World Championships, finished third to qualify for the finals. Vajda Attila said the heat affected his performance and he hoped he could do better in the final.
