On the last day of the 2007 Canoe/Kayak Flatwater Open, Russian pair Evgeny Ignatov/Ivan Shtyl successfully came out on top in the men's C-2 500m final with a time of 1:42.208.

Andrei Bahdanovich/Aliaksandr Zhukouski of Belarus came home second in 1:42.428, 0.220 slower than the champions, followed by a Polish pair Wojciech Tyszynski/Roman Rynkiewicz with 1:42.698.

China's Meng Guanliang/Gong Yongjun finished fifth, with a time of 1:43.458. Meng Guanliang used to win the event paired with Yang Wenjun at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004.

According to the rules, as only nine pairs of paddlers entered their names for this event, all the nine boats directly qualify for today's finals without going through any preliminary or semifinal rounds.
