Germany narrowly wins men's K-2 500m

In the men's K-2 500m finals on the last day of the 2007 Canoe/Kayak Flatwater Open, German combination Ronald Rauhe/Tim Wieskotter in Lane 5 won the title with a time of 1:28.146, or 0.160 second ahead of the runners-up Raman Piatiushenka/Vadzim Makhneu of Belarus in Lane 4.

Coming home third and fourth were Ben Fouhy/Steven Ferguson of New Zealand with 1:34.176 and Zoltan Kammerer/Galbor Kucsera of Hungary with 1:29.846 respectively.
