The second-day competition of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 Canoe/Kayak Flatwater Open was staged on August 24. French rower Sebastien Jouve clocked 1:43.317 to finish first in the men's K-1 500m group race. Also qualifying for the final were second-place finisher Zoltan Benko of Hungary in 1:43.483 and third-place finisher Anton Ryakhov of Russia in 1:43.731.
Anton Ryakhov noted he was satisfied with his performance. "Today's starting was good. I'm in good form and everything went smoothly in the process," he said.
"Competing at the Olympic venue here enables the participants to adapt themselves to the venue and prepare for the Olympic Games beforehand." He added.
"I've been engaged in kayak training for a decade and currently I take two training sessions a day with six to seven hours on aggregate. I will intensify my training for the Olympics but won't change the methods or add special trainings." Ryakhov concluded. |
