"Undoubtedly it is one of the best venues around the globe, and maybe the best." Athens Olympics C-1 500m champion Dittmer of Germany noted when describing his opinion of the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park in Beijing.

Dittmer, top finisher of the group match today at the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 Canoe/Kayak Flatwater Open, directly qualified for Sunday's final.

As a veteran who has been participating in games in many countries, Dittmer said the park's environment is perfect. "The wind was dead today but everyone was the same. The park is fit for hosting the Olympic Games in next year very much."

In the Canoe/Kayak World Championships two weeks ago, Dittmer won the silver mead with China's rower Yang Wenjun settling for third.

"He is a great player and I look forward to meeting him in the final." Dittmer revealed while commenting on Yang.

The Olympic champion found no difficulty in booking his berth in both the 500m and 1000m events today but he remained clear-eyed for the final saying "All the finalists are pretty strong, the difference between the first and the last being rather small." He concluded.
