The pre-event press conference for the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 Canoe/Kayak Flatwater Open was held at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park on the morning of Aug. 22.

Xin Qunying, deputy director of the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park, briefed the media on the preparation for the event and answered their questions. China's Olympic canoeing gold-medalist at Athens 2004 Yang Wenjun also attended the press conference. As one of the canoeists this time, he briefed the media on such competition-related issues as the climate, racing course and other supporting facilities.

The 2007 Canoe/Kayak Flatwater Open will be held on August 22-26, with the participation of a total of 226 athletes from 32 countries and regions.
