"I think I can't find any better words of praise for the venue and the running of the tournament here in Beijing" said Istvan Vaskuti, Chairman of the ICF Flatwater Racing Committee, with a smile.

With the conclusion of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 Canoe/Kayak Flatwater Open on August 26, the ICF official spoke highly of the four-day event which turned out to be a great success. "I've asked the opinions of many athletes on this open tournament, and they all agreed that both the venue and the supporting facilities for the racing were excellent. The racing course, in particular, we can say it is perfect. The event organization was also very good and nothing went wrong."

Istvan Vaskuti made special mention of the performance of the volunteers. "They are lovely. You can see they're always ready to help others. You'll be very happy to see their smiling faces."

If there was anything that needs to be improved, Istvan Vaskuti pointed out, the coordination among different sectors of the event organizing committee could have been more flexible. "However," the ICF official agreed that it is always a contradiction, as "the entire system for such a high-level event might be in chaos with the coordination being too flexible."
